Comments: Hey Greg,
I have a couple of questions. Is there a problem on the arete to the right of the Hueco problem? And what is the name/grade of the problem on the over hanging face that's on the west side, right of the hueco problem, of the Hueco wall boulder?

Location: SD : Mount Rushmore National Mem... : Chopping Block : Veiny : Existential Angst (5.10) By: Gary When: Jul 10, 2008 | view comment >> |
Comments: The anchors on top of this route are looking a bit sketchy and rusty... I think they are 1/4" closed shut. Just be careful when setting your anchor and try to back it up some way. Otherwise another solid 5.10 for the area

Comments: Or... You can park at the parking lot of the Breezy Point Picnic area and follow the trail head that starts on the south east corner of the parking lot (opposite the bathrooms). Follow it for twenty minutes and you'll be at the bus stop boulder. You'll know your on the right trail when you see a thin pine tree trunk in the shape of an "S"

Comments: Regarding the Climbing magazine article... As they say "Any press, is good press" I'm stoked that Climbing did an editorial on Spearfish Canyon. Hopefully it will bring more climbers to the beautiful area, allow them to make there own opinion, and further solidify it as a world class destination. Peace
