Started climbing when I was 22 in 1967. As a result, I consider leading part of the normal scenario. Took a long time off doing other things; starting back up again. As a geezer I've lost strength in my arms and hands, so some things just aren't going to get done. A good day in the hills is more important to me than checking something off. I'd rather explore something I haven't seen or done than repeat something. Some things are probably out of reach because of shear lack of stamina, but I'll cross that bridge when it comes up. That said, I'm still going forward instead of slipping backwards. I appreciate it when my partner gives the anchor I brought him/her up on a thorough once-over.
