Comments: A tree's feeder roots are very small (hairlike in nature) so the wind moving that tree around would rip and tear those small feeder roots. Because those small roots feed the tree I'd say it is only a matter of time that the tree will perish (nothings guaranteed )- hopefully alone at the top of the climb not at the bottom connected to a unsuspecting climber. No contest - chains should be installed.
