Comments: I have often wanted to climb this area. What routes are in this area that are worth reestablishing?

Comments: Both. from what I'm told, you can go either way. we stayed on the side of the corner. it's a "bit" more protected. once you get to the top of the corner/aerate it's about a 60 foot runout till you get to the overlap. Also, if you tread left once past the corner/aerate, you will find a water grove that you can follow up and left then traverse right back to the "slot".

Comments: Could be a classic but the lack of traffic makes the bottom a tad dirty. Set up is the same as breakaway left (gear).

Comments: I was up there on 3/27/10 and from the bottom of vertical it looked as if the old 1/4 inch bolt was missing... not sure what happen to it, or if it's going to be replaced. Also I don't recall ever seeing a pin just above the big jug, however it sure looked like one is there now. Planing on climbing there real soon to investigate...

Comments: OK So doing the second 5.0 pitch gets you to the top, right? Is there a walk off trail at the top? Or am I going to have to use a tree/rock/fixed gear to rap back down? Thinking of heading down to this area the first weekend in April, and would like to know what I'm in for. Any good topo books on this area and climb? BTW, I will be using 70m doubles. Would I be able to make it in one long rap?

Comments: This is a good route to have a go at clean aid. Just be mindful when placing gear just below the upper overhang. I found a #0 C3 to be handy at this spot.

Comments: Good description! this was my first lead at Chickies. Be careful of rope drag and you can get to the top in one long pitch. helmets are a must!

Comments: Not trying to be a smartass, but if it's so dangerous then why not put two bolts at the top of the climb? That would make things safer.

Comments: Use care when leading. I have herd that the flake moves/flexes and if you fall, it may rip out your pro.
