Comments: The grade for this route is extremely height dependent.
If you are 5'7 or shorter, then every move is a stretchy powerful reach and your cranking for every move, while having to climb so delicately. solid 11d for the shorties. 5'8 and up folks can reach everything relitively easily and your just required to make delicate moves, which would be the given grade of 11b. Regardless, this is a top-notch short route. Im 5'7 and i had just onsighted No place like home(the 11c arete), and several oth... more >>

Comments: any decent sport cimbing near Great Falls?
Im going by myself for a 60 hour/week job, and would like to rope solo on my one day off per week. Or meet up with potential partners?

There must be a few gems in the area, if there are and you don't want to post it here you can email me at WhipperTherapy@hotmail.com. (as in climbing whippers, thanks) I am a respectful climber who does not have a blog, and I have no interest in blowing your spots out.

Thanks from seattle,

Frank

Comments: This is a BRILLIANT pitch of climbing. And a very hard 12a.
The roof is great! The stemming is Great! The crux seem to be clipping the 3rd and fourth bolts. If you manage that it's time to grind your teeth and pull a few cranky moves that get you through the roof. From there it's all over. WOW.

Comments: This is one spicy burrito if you left the pro at home!
Also I might say its on the stout side... Definetly harder than 11b. Tricky onsight for 5.11 climbers! Overall- a very fine route.

Comments: "Except for the bleached crack at the top, the moves are fun."

I have to completely disagree. Pitch 1 = fun moves off start low angle ly'backing. Then interesting climbing with a *slight route finding challenge for the remainder of the pitch. Pitch 2= 4th class (almost 3rd) scramblin up to a roof and awesome belay ledge. Pitch 3 climbs through the roof on the best rock of the route (really fun here) and turns onto a slab featuring a huge low-angle o/w crack. The roof and the entire crack are... more >>

Comments: Hey thanks Scott. Haven't visited the site for some time. Ya the first moves are definetly the toughest on this route. Im glad Leland dragged me out there to put it up.

Comments: I climbed this up to the crux moves on Rad's TR... Really enjoyable movements. Gotta be one of the coolest routes around. Good job on the stylish redpoint Rad. And yes- do bring a stopper so you can sinch it on the bolt in between the 2nd and 3rd bolt. You'll definetly want that. Can I give it 4 stars without sending?

Comments: Raptor nest??? Sorry thats a rat nest yall, covering the entire ledge you climb up on. The whole thing is poop- 3 inches deep of dry poop over the whole thing. Dont be surprised when you grab a fist full of shit, you cant avoid it! One of the, if not the best route on the wall.

Comments: Yeah worked on this with Leland W. in 08. It was bolted on lead/A0, in the rain, wind and a 35 degree winter day so yeah some of em are close together.. but they all ended up being good placements for leading. The start is tricky especially for shorties like me. I was torn on the grade to give it really.... Leland wanted to call it 11a and I thought it had some hard 10+ moves. So far the general concensus is 10c/d. Super fun short route, the roof pull makes it worth it. Called "Hurricane" ... more >>
