Comments: As of 4/14/12, first bolt above Edge-a-sketch is quite a spinner.

Comments: Eman's book must be outstanding. Having bolted most of the island and being integrated into the Japanese climbing community, I am sure the book is stellar.

Comments: 8 draws and anchors. Bring a longer draw or sling for the bolt above the bowl (reduces drag).

Comments: This can be climbed direct through the amazing roof crack at the bottom making it a 5.9 and super fun!

Comments: Diverse movements make this route fun. Look for the ticked rail at the bottom of the dihedral.

Comments: The brief route description above is reminiscent of the guidebook. There is a cave where the southwest face above holds classic 5.8, and 5.10 and the 5.11 Newton County Mentality is around the corner (right). Where the cave ends and the wall again meets the ground and slightly to the right on the east face is "Brand New" which is 5.8 for about 15 feet then 5.6 to the top. It is a fun and easy beginner lead or warm up route.

Comments: A set of nuts will sew this up in three pieces. Agreed that it is a good instruction route, infinite pro possibilities and easy anchor set up. Using the right wall takes the fun of the crack out.

Comments: Mr. Strong is right, a tad more challenging that Brinton's throughout. Peenuts and 00's may be handy on this one. Climbing direct through the slabs makes an exciting small "run out."

Comments: Airy crux traverse is a creeper, bring lots of yellow #2s, a doss #3 and long runner in the alclove before the traverse makes the traverse less thrilling. Avoid the v slot below the top and other rope drag spots...if I were to do this again I would traverse back left at the top, or go strait up after the alclove. Stiff 5.6 with a platter of technical moves.

Comments: The route was a two star because although I failed on it this trip I thought it was fun, Ellington's guidebook gave it one star...finish it and let us know what you think.

Comments: In October of 2006, I climbed here with Emmanuel Lacoste (EMAN), his wife and a few Nihonjin. As I recall, the two of them, and their son, had spent three years exposing the crag by removing heavy overgrowth. Most of the routes were new then (one went up that day) and were bolted with expansion bolts. The rock is beautiful sandstone conglomerate with amazing sloping features on several overhangs. Most routes are stiff and the only two under 5.10 are to the far right (facing the crag). There... more >>

Comments: The only time I climbed here, several holds broke off in my hand, there is good friction, just bad solidity.
