Good times at Red Wing never stop! Nine year reunion from my first trip to the Wing, which was also my first trip outside. <br />Did Pulldown Menu right before this was shot. Never did it before, and it was fun! What else is hiding in plain sight at the Sand Wing?

Comments: Believe it or not, I had to go to the local urgent care for a bouldering injury last summer, and I ran into "the strong climber who got hurt on this". He was my doctor, a Dr Deladuca, if Im not mistaken. We got to talking about climbing, and I mentioned that this was one of the only hardish cracks Id done in Leavenworth. He was surprised, and told me the story:
"I was trying to get around the Lazy Boy, and got my leg stuck. I moved up, thinking it would twist out, but it didn't, and I twisted m... more >>

Comments: Yes, quite a bit harder. This has longer moves and smaller holds. Very fun.

Comments: Although I often disagree with the Knight of a Woeful Figure, I also think this may be called Lowtide. I'm definitely not sure, though. Can someone clear this up?

Comments: I think someone cleaned out the 'unidentifiable animal shit' in the key hold. This thing was super clean, fun, and easy when I did it in early November.

Comments: I saw that I was mentioned, but not Tyler on this page, and felt I should say something. I didn't bolt this route, just got permission to try it from Tyler Hoffart, who put in the time, money, and care to equip it.
He did a fantastic job. He took a dusty top-rope, communicated respectfully with Mr. Dahlberg, and brought this thing to life. The hardware is bomber, and the bolts are well-placed.
I'd say it's now the best bolted route in Minnesota. And 2nd on my top ten best sport routes in the m... more >>

Comments: It's not in the route description, but it says in the Caldiero guide that the original line assumes a sit start. I did it today with the sit start, and thought the sit start kind of sucked, but it is definitely a bit harder. Just checking.

Comments: Nope. The closed project branches to the right of this route at the 3rd bolt. Fox Confessor is neither closed, nor a project. Sorry if I was unclear.

Comments: It's kind of hard to tell where to top out based on this description. I did find a good edge out right, but thought that was the top out for the 6. Also there's a slopey pocket on the face straight up. And there are powerful undercling moves and a crimp seam out left. Clarification?

Does anyone have a grade or quality suggestion when it's climbed this way?

Comments: Oooh, controversy! Good route, although it could use a spring cleaning. 12a if you grab the patina at full extension. Indeed, skipping that would undermine the difficulty considerably.

Comments: No one cared to mention that this is an eliminate? If you reach too far to the right, you get some really good holds. Your choice: fun four star v7ish problem, or v10 eliminate.
