Comments: the amount of gear you find on the first pitch will highly depend on the path you take. anyway you slice it, there isn't a ton of good gear. and it probably is a little harder than 5.5. much like the nose, i think the first pitch might be a tad sandbagged.

Comments: Can anyone point out to me where this supposed shape of Africa is on or near this route? I must have a poor imagination.....

Comments: Yeah but pulling on roots and clawing into dirt isn't really rock climbing. It certainly adds to the mental crux though, I can't argue that.

Comments: I would have enjoyed this route much more as well had there been an anchor at the top. I too had to pull on some tiny little roots to top out the cliff. I suppose a number of people doing this over the years has contributed to some significant erosion around the rappel tree.

Comments: Tall or short, didn't seem like an 11c to me either. I only spent a few days in Clear Creek, and I climbed a few 10s that were considerably harder than this thing!!! All the same, very fun, exposed for such a short route, and fun gymnastic movement.

Comments: It would be somewhat hard to not use the hueco on this route, all though the no hands rest makes this one of the easiest 11's in the RRG.

Comments: If the rock were a bit more solid this route would easily be 4 stars. All the same, it is a lot of fun! Cool crux move and overhanging plate hauling. When you see it, you will want to climb it!
