Comments: Mountainmicah83- hate to inform ya that the majority of the footholds you used were chopped in with an axe many years ago. Yeah, some of the chopped stuff is BAD, but convenience anchors were added for the, "Climbing is for everyone" crowd.

Comments: GEAR ALERT! The quick-links that Jimmie and Stewart installed just two years ago are worn through about 75%. Careful!

Comments: Mono- You are correct, dogs have become a MAJOR problem at Shelf, even more so than in the past. I've written some letters to the powers that be to see if dogs can get banned. Hate me if you want, but my kids are more important than your dogs, and I'm tired of them being harassed.

Comments: Definitely will stretch your 60 meter to the limit. As Julian stated above, it's best to tie a knot in the end on the rope when lowering. I thought this was a pretty stiff 5.8.

Comments: Bob Robertson thought this might be a 5.8. I'm going to stick with that. An enjoyable route but short, only five draws.

Comments: This problem is know as, "The Graduation Crack". It's a V1 at best, and has always been rated at this.

Comments: Phil-You go to UCCS, but please keep your Boulder ethics/mentality out of the Canyon. The bolt first-then ask questions later-then say don't clip it if you don't like it argument doesn't really hold up around here. The truth is that this short scramble can be completely protected from the crack on the right, and if you don't feel like down-climbing...you can rap from one of the many natural anchors at the top. It's been this way for 50+ years.

Comments: THE hardest 5.9 I've ever done. It takes finesse, and time to dial this one in.

Comments: Sometime last weak, convenience anchors were added to the top of this climb.

Comments: Sometime last week bolts were added to the top of this climb. Everyone I know just solos this thing up, and down. Kind of a right of passage type thing.

Comments: Andrew - Yes, the traverse has been done many times over (left, right, barefoot, etc...), and before you were born. On another note: I've been climbing this boulder for many years now, and this year someone feels the need to tick mark everything with chalk. It's starting to look pretty trashy, also after it rains your tick marks turn into mushy slick spots-NOT cool.

Comments: I don't think there is more than a handful of moves on this route that rates a 5.5. Careful route finding is needed on the fourth pitch, go right at the, "V" slot.

Comments: The first pitch is a solid seven, and very polished. A couple of aliens, and a piton(first pitch) have become permanent fixtures on the route.
