Comments: You can clearly see where the rock broke around the second bolt. The bolt remains in the wall, inside a rock scar.

Beta Spoiler(kinda):
The 2 finger sidepull you clip the second bolt from is super solid. But my middle finger pad is still numb 3 days later from holding it so hard. I was rather scared on the consequences of blowing that clip.

Comments: Super polished. I don't think the grade of this route is above me. Its a style I like. But I had a super hard time getting my feet to stick. I kept popping off below the second bolt from suuuuper polished feet, which someone next to us suggested we stick clip. It was more manageable when the route kicked back.

Comments: Vector Traverse is my favorite pitch in climbing so far. Brought two #3, would leave one at home if I did this again. This was an amazing climb. If it turns into an epic I could understand if you didn't think this was a classic. I'm a terrible route finder, and not one part of this route seemed confusing, except the 5.8 cracks because the natural line puts you in a scary as fuck corner, with 40-50lb death blocks everywhere.

Humblebrag: I would call this a 10 anywhere else. I've led a coup... more >>

Comments: I'd rather someone purchased it and turned it into a campground. Same deal the BLM have going on.

Also, single sites are $8 now. At least the sticker told me so.

Comments: The fall from the 4th bolt is fine. Just don't blow clipping the 4th bolt to avoid the ponderosa prostate exam.

Comments: So freaking greasy... tried this on a cold day, I'd hate to think about this on a hot day. I slipped off a couple of holds when I grabbed them and ended up throwing a heel up. Don't commit to any single move with your hands below the first few bolts.

Comments: Get an early alpine start, try and be at the Fourth of July trailhead by about 230 or so. You can make it to the first hump of the north ridge by sunrise and have a truly majestic view of the sunrise over the entire valley. Hands drown one of the best views of the Rockies.

Comments: Stellar hand traverse once you get to the flake. Best part of the route.

Comments: It was good. The start and end of the dihedral was awesome, the short traverse right was a bit awkward. A single #2 is all you need to protect the top if you're going for the tree. It felt pretty stiff for a 5.8.

Comments: I loved this route personally. It's well protected and fun the whole way up. Follow the bolts for a line that is more fun.

Comments: Totally looked easier from below. Went too far left around bolt 4 or 5 and got stuck in no holds land.

Comments: Did this yesterday. Pitch 1 and 2 were grunt fests and completely boring. Pitch 3 was nice, but I ended up taking a pretty big fall trying to climb the dihedral all the way. Pulled out a questionable #4 along the way. Move right into the parallel cracks, route finding is winning. Pitch 4 looked awful and wasn't much better.

I won't go back, but I can see how this would be a good climb for people already in the 11s. If you're a beginner climber (like me), this isn't your standard 5.7. Prot... more >>

Comments: Great crack. Super painful on the muscles for the new crack climber, I was screaming like the pros to get my arms to work. The feet are much better than they look.

Comments: Chalk X not there. The rock still is. I don't think anyone who looks at where they are climbing is going to use it as a hold.

Comments: I love climbing. I'd rather climb the nearby trees than this again. It isn't that this route is bad, it was just really lack luster. I've had some scramble ascents that were more hair raising and exciting.

The gear was placed only as a "well fuck it...we're supposed to place gear 40ft up a wall. might as well." I climbed this within my first few weeks of climbing, so this isn't from a wellspring of experience, talent and skill.

Comments: GREAT route. My first lead on a 10. Loved every second of it. In an effort to practice more passive gear placement, the pink and brown tri-cams are great for pro around where you would put the Aliens.

Comments: I'm new to climbing and leading (2 months climbing and only a handful of trad leads), but I would wager that the "off-width" start is harder than 5.7. I've been able to lead up to 5.8 so far, and the "off-width" start has to easily be the hardest thing I've climbed. There is great pro as far as I was able to lead. I used up to a #4. Theres a fantastic hand/finger crack, that runs under the flake, inside of the main crack and it will accept 0.3.

From some of the other photos, I think that ... more >>
