Comments: I have no idea the name of the problem or who did the first ascent, but I was shown this problem and did it before 2006. I don't recall what year exactly, and I know several people did it before me. While I like the name Razor's Edge, I don't think keeping it as Razor's Edge would be appropriate. Sorry; it is hard to find unclimbed lines at Rotary, but they do exist.

Good addition to the database.

Comments: A 70 meter does not get you down if you link pitches (not really close either). I don't recall the bolt count.

Comments: Top roped this line many years ago. At the time I felt like it went at mid 11, but did not want to bolt it. Things might have changed and it might be significantly harder now.

Comments: I don't think you would deck if something happened at the top, but the runout is a little unnecessary and potentially dangerous. There are several good cam placements through the runout section, but I would be more concerned about the rock quality in that section. One more bolt would make the route much safer, and I am a little confused why they did not place one more bolt.

Comments: This route could really use one more bolt to keep you off a large ledge. A fall at the wrong spot would be very bad for the ankles.

Comments: This is a great line and a great find by Kevin. An interesting crux and fun movement on surprisingly good holds makes you wish it did not finish so quickly. The only reason I don't give it a classic status is due to my preference for long routes, and it is too short for me. For others, it will be one of the best of its difficulty in the canyon. Good eye, Kevin.

Comments: Great movement throughout the crux pitch, which has a hard to read crux followed by an excellent finish. Hard to rate being on it only once, and it may be easier than 12a if you know the sequence at the crux, but I am sticking to 12a until the next time - there will be a next time. The last pitch still has some loose holds.

Comments: The official regulation is that you can only boulder or rock climb in designated areas, and Horsetooth Rock is not a designated area.

Link to Larimer Parks areas where rock climbing is allowed.

Note that the bouldering is Horsetooth Reservoir County Park and the rock is Horsetooth Mountain Open Space.

Comments: There is a problem that starts with the sit down to Big Block then goes left to the arete and up the arete. It is fantastic, and I think it deserves classic status, but I don't know the name. If you are looking for a new problem at Carter, this is one to try.

Edit: I am told that it is called Face Wipe.

Comments: I combined the last pitch of Buried Treasure with the last pitch of Staying Alive, which resulted in much rope drag. However, this does make for a long and enjoyable pitch, just make sure you have several long runners and consider back cleaning or skipping some bolts.

Comments: The first pitch is great. There is a flake at the end of the harder climbing that is loose and will probably break in the near future. It is a great hold and is obviously used by many, so I wanted to give a heads up. It can be avoided by underclingling instead. The second pitch is not worth the effort.

Comments: This problem broke once again some time during the summer of 2014. The new break is the crimp at the second crux right next to the old break. This sequence has gotten much harder and will make the already pumpy problem that much more so. I was able to work out new beta but did not put it all together yet, so I am not sure if a grade change is appropriate. Since it is getting V8- consistently, and I am sure that it is not going to be V9, I would say V8 would be in the right ballpark.

Comments: After finishing the crux on a sidepull that one wishes was just a little better, you are rewarded with some great face climbing to finish. Great addition to the area.

Comments: There are two sections of poor rock quality on this climb. One right before the crux (I broke a hold and took a ride) and one right after the crux.

Comments: A fun route with a very thin crux. Bring your edging shoes. I found this harder than some of the other 10a-10c's on the wall but just for the one very well-protected move.
