Location: CA : Los Angeles County : Devil's Punchbowl : South area : VD (Very Direct) Wall : Spike the Punch (5.10c/d) By: Eamon Doyle When: Jan 4, 2012 | view comment >> | Comments: As of 1/3/2012, there were some insecure sandstone flakes between the 3rd and 4th bolt. They were capable of supporting weight vertically, but I recommend being very careful that you not pull out on them. Also, you belayer might consider a helmet.

Location: CA : Los Angeles County : Devil's Punchbowl : South area : VD (Very Direct) Wall By: Eamon Doyle When: Jan 3, 2012 | view comment >> | Comments: Was here on 1/3/2012. The creek was running, but the area was dry and quite clean. A lot of the 5.8 climbs are greatly assisted by bringing some cams, because the climbs to the left of the cave don't have bolts early on.

Location: CA : Los Angeles County : Devil's Punchbowl : South area : VD (Very Direct) Wall : Overhanger (5.9) By: Eamon Doyle When: Jan 3, 2012 | view comment >> | Comments: As of 1/3/2012, I recommend bringing a stick clip for the first clip if you aren't solid on 5.9+ climbs. The clip is just high enough that a spot isn't all that helpful and the fall is onto uneven rock.

Location: KY : Red River Gorge : Muir Valley : Tectonic Wall : Fifth Bolt Faith (5.10b/c) By: Eamon Doyle When: Nov 20, 2011 | view comment >> | Comments: If you stand back on the trail to the left of the climb as you approach, you can see the 5th bolt. From the bottom of the climb, it is certainly hidden by the crux.
