Comments: I placed a blue alien and the largest bd micronut after the 2nd bolt.

Comments: Some routes here seem to have traditionally spaced bolts. I wouldn't suggest using the bolted routes here to "break into the grade"

Comments: climbed the first pitch, with the guidebook published I'm sure this route will see more traffic(cleaning it up). Second pitch looked like brushy/lichen steep-hike thicketeering. Can't rap to the ground from the anchors, a 60 meter rope will get you below the first bolt and its an easy downclimb from there

Comments: probably the most underrated route at Echo...it doesn't look like much from the ground but at the overlap and above it's tons of fun

Comments: I swear this whole route could be protected with nothing but #2 camalots. I brought 2 with me and leap frogged both at least once each.

Comments: Best first lead route in CT, plenty of gear, and clean falls. Used to be graded 5.3, I think its a solid 5.4, I definitely don't think its 5.5.

Comments: one of the first routes I led at Ragged, scared the bajeezubs outta me. I was unaccustomed to easy routes being so steep.

Comments: The exposure on this route and the steep climbing off the belay probably make this a less than ideal route for the 5.6 leader. But if you are comfortable leading any of the classic gunks 5.6s this should be a cakewalk.

Comments: great route, a little sketchy for my taste off the P1 belay ledge. With microcams and RPs the roof can be protected without placing anything relying on the loose tooth. I don't know what the pitch looked like before the rock fall.

Comments: I don't think sustained is the word I'd use to describe the route. There are a few thought provoking spots that will give pause, but definitely not "sustained" in my opinion.

Location: CT : Central CT Traprock : Cathole By: devkrev When: Sep 16, 2010 | view comment >> |
Comments: I feel like this crag gets a lot of traffic, not so much due to the quality of the climbing, but more the proximity to the road, but pegasus is definitely worth a visit.
