Thanks!!

Comments: First off - Big kudos to Darren for spying this line and putting forth the idea of continuing Craig's initial route. While I might have provided some direction (i.e. can't you just push through that next roof... it doesn't look too hard...) The main impetus was all Darren! Thank You for bringing me in on your idea!

Second - Re the rating.... It seems that exposure adds a couple of letter grades to me. (I don't think that's the case for Darren....) It sure felt to be on the + side of 11 (but... more >>

Comments: VERY height-dependent crux! Felt 11+ to me, but I still didn't get it... (I'm 5'9"). Another friend (also short) got it and said it felt 11+/12-. Kirk makes it look easy, but he's 6'2"....

Comments: Photo taken after Darren went back up (after the FA) to clean a BIG loose flake. I was to busy belaying during the FFA to take a pic of the same move...

Comments: To get off the sloping ledge, I used left hand on the small sidepull crimp, reached right out to the arete and bearhugged to get the feet up on small edges. Left hand up to the good sidepull, then right higher up the arete. Fun burly sequence!

Comments: Rhonda - the route you were on is Pretty Woman (in the database here). When the bottom of Hey Good Lookin' is wet you can climb the 1st part of Pretty Woman into Hey Good Lookin' (Pretty Good Lookin'???).

Comments: While it has been YEARS... I have been chased off these slabs by folks insisting I was trespassing. The signs by the road haven't changed. Are these on private property? Is there a way to approach without trespassing?

Comments: Dude! I think you have the speed record for NMCTB!
Actually - I was expecting the sun to set before you got to the anchors, which BTW you didnt clip! No send for you!!!

Comments: Anchor alert: The cold shuts on this route are seriously worn. The left one almost 50% through. I did not have anything with me to replace them. Until I do, or someone else does, it would be good to rappel rather then lower off....

Comments: A friend of mine broke off a hand hold between the 1st and 2nd bolts last weekend. I tried it afterward and it felt a lot harder than I remembered, although it's been years since I've done it.... May now be a major sandbag at 11a - curious to hear what others think.

Comments: Fun route! Definitely needs to clean up a bit but should do so nicely.... Crux to me (and others today) was not the roof but an awkward sequence around the 7th or 8th bolt. HUGE jugs thru the roof section!

Location: CO : South Platte : Deckers : Little Half Dome : Tin Can Alley (5.6)
By: invisible ghost When: Sep 10, 2008

Comments: I believe Tin Can Alley takes the crack/flake system to the small tree in your photo (possible belay)- then goes left then back right past a couple old bolts to the newish anchor. There are a couple of 10ish face routes w/ new bolts to the right (incl the black streak mentioned).

Mine is leave it as is. Sack it up or don't do it (or just TR it).
The route's name is "Nerve Damage"... you gotta expect some excitement!

Comments: Lost my shoes at High Wire....
Apparently left my shoes up at High Wire below Road Kill this past Tuesday, 8/5/08. La Sportiva Katana's (yellow w/ velcro), size 42.

Figured it out today and went back to check and they're gone.

If you picked them up, please email me thru this site.

thanks

Comments: Slim - I did do a couple of routes back there a while ago. I called the area The Back Porch and was aiming for a kid friendly area to take my daughter to. I can not take full credit for the right slab route, however... I placed the anchors and TR'd it with folks but did not feel like hand drilling the protection bolts... When I went back after I got my Bosch, someone had already finished the job (I suspect the same person who has/had done a lot of the bolting down there).
I've posted a couple ph... more >>

Comments: Fun route but not nearly as hard as the 2 to the left. My chopped 70m (call it 67m) was enough to get down from the top anchors, but not much rope to spare....
