Comments: There are 2 routes to the right (southeast I guess) of Dick Van Dike. Does anyone know what they are rated and called? Would be nice to get them added to this site. They are both split into 2 pitches. I climbed only the first today (the one just right of Dick Van Dike) and it felt like a 5.7.

Comments: 5.3?!?! My you know what!! Ratings are definitely sandbag'd in AZ. Tight off-width/chimney. Last chimney a bit tricky for a new climber - need solid stemming technique. Secure but strenuous. View worth the effort. Rap'd with single 60m rope (needed very last inch to make it to the bottom).

Comments: Glad to have had the first bolt as there is no place for protection until you are 20+ feet off the ground. Pulling roof was fun... tape not a bad idea as rock is super abbrasive here.

Comments: Partner and I did this route in 2 pitches (using 60M rope). No issue with rope drag.

Comments: This was a fun climb on a blue bird day in January! Although the afternoon winds made it a bit more spicy on that last pitch! We did this in 4 pitches (started up the West Chimney). Route finding was very easy.

Lots of loose rock in the chimney so needed to take it slow on the first pitch (and getting a #1 cam stuck didn't help. After breaking both trigger wires we left it for dead. HOWEVER... our new friends we rapped down with were able to get it out using 2 nut tools...thanks John!!).

Comments: Super fun route. Great moves and nice variation for a 5.7+. We missed the short (?) third pitch and ran out P2 for a full 60M rope length, ending at a small ledge next to the walk-off.

Comments: Fun route for sure. Definitely need to trust your feet on this one as the hands are thin at the crux (bolt 6?). Also, a 60m rope is a must, esp if you pass the achors and extend to the anchors of the adjacent routes.

Comments: I agree with Eric. This route seemed more like a 5.9 to me, given the moves required thru bolts 2/3/4. I travered right after bolt 2, and pulled a tough move to bolt 3. Feet placement is thin - need to trust your feet and the rock!

Fun route with gorgeous views. A must do at Jurassic.

Comments: Super fun route. Starts up the arete. All the holds were there and good stance on all the clips. Beautiful views from the top.

Comments: Nice climb. Crux was about half way up. Needed to clip, then downclimb a step and go left.

Comments: Great route. We started at 11:30 and had NO sun all day. It's pretty north-east facing, so don't expect much this time of year. Although pretty protected from wind.

All the pitches were fun and had their unique challenges, from chimneys to cracks. Definitely some runout in P6 (think I placed 2 pieces of pro only!).

We topped out in the dark (nice views of Vegas!). I'm sorry, but who ever said the walk-off was easy is WRONG!! Talk about scary. Very sketchy and very steep. Never did find the ... more >>

Comments: Climbed this yesterday - was my second outdoor climb! It was awesome. I would recommend it for any beginner/less experienced climber. An easy 5.6, just LONG! Most areas had big holds, although some of the rock face got slippery in areas. Conditions were perfect. The rap off the back was fun. I think the hiking was the hardest part!! Looking forward to doing it again.
