Comments: Does anyone know if the bolts have been replaced (or if bolts were added)?

Thanks!

Comments: The far left route is Grand Pappy, the middle one (just to the right of Grandpappy) is Lichen Us.

The first bolted belay on Lichen Us (the top of the second pitch) is missing from the photo. Only the top of the third pitch belay of Lichen Us is shown.

Comments: Best route I have done at Salt Point!

The 10a grading is accurate. This route has multiple cruxes and is quite sustained.

I took a few cams and slings, placed one in the corner below the roof and extended it with three slings.

It is quite a heady lead not because the pro is bad or runout but the exposure climbing through the roof is incredible.

Comments: This felt harder than Sneaky (10b) and perhaps even harder than Surf Tower (10c).

So 10b maybe a bit of a sandbag.

The rock quality is quite good.

Comments: Getting to the second bolt is a little scary, due to the poor clipping stance high above the first bolt.

My friend pulled a rock off on this one. Scary.

Good and varied moves, long, but crappy rock.

Comments: Fantastic route! The Don Reid book gives it one star, but it is at least 2 of 3 stars. Would be three stars if it did not have that ledge with all the poop and the bush growing out of the crack on the fourth pitch.

We did it in 7 pitches (the last two are shared by Braille Book), got to the top of Higher Cathedral Rock and walked off.

This is a physical and steep climb. There is a lot of chimneying, squeeze, offwidth, hand jamming, stemming, and huge bucket holds. Of the 7 pitches 4 of them... more >>

Comments: Are you supposed to escape left underneath the first roof (by the piton) or traverse right under the first roof, layback up the side of that roof and traverse right under the second roof?

Comments: We climbed this today and made it to the summit in three pitches (could be done in two). The lower crux section of pitch 1 was not super burly nor lacking good feet as I was expecting it to be per the supertopo guidebook description. Fantastic route, get on it!

Pitch 1: 200ish feet. Climb the layback crack (5.9), continue up the chimney and yet still continue in the right-leaning layback (5.9+) to the base of another chimney. Belay here, in the double cracks at the base of the chimney. (Th... more >>

Comments: The guidebook rates this as 10a R. While slightly intimidating, the gear is there. Bring lots of small cams, small offset nuts, and plenty of slings.

Comments: The first comment is extremely inaccurate. The smooth and clean corner provides for an excellent wide laybacking experience and, with the addition of the new bolted belay, is a great pitch to do on its own.

Comments: Here are some notes on the pitches we did. This information may not be entirely accurate since I did this route a couple months ago.

We started the route beneath a small roof.

P1: Step over the roof and onto a slab. Climb left to a crack in left facing corner. Climb up the corner a bit until the crack becomes too thin and difficult to climb. Traverse left and do an exposed step across (5.7) into a corner / chimney. Climb up the chimney to excellent face climbing on big jugs at the top of ... more >>

Comments: I agree that the climb is a good trad route. The gear is bomber underneath the roof. Above, the thin crack takes small nuts.
