Comments: Big thanks to JJ Schlick and Wade Forrest for the support on my first lead attempt and Eric Deschamps for the belay on my redpoint.

I gotta recommend Lost Highway as a fitting and excellent option for a warm-up for this route.

Comments: There is a variation to the 2nd pitch that most likely has been climbed before. Instead of staying in the dihedral, traverse left to the edge and follow a broken crack up to a mostly hand crack splitter, where the angle breaks and heads for short right facing dihedral with some loose blocks. You can also start from Edge of an Age, staying on the arete instead of traversing into the "tooth". Maybe 5.9+ or so, 1-2 stars. Would need some cleaning up to keep it safe for the grade.

Comments: This is actually the final pitch of Coyote Calling. Most people finish Fine Jade this way though.

Comments: probably rated the same as Six Shooter to its left, but there are thinner and harder moves on this one, especially down low. Great movement.

Comments: Looks like folks bail out to the left at the crux which could make for a bad swinging fall into the ledge. I found the moves going directly through the bolt line to be excellent and precise and merit the 12b grade.

Comments: A nice variation that adds more climbing is to start with Honed and traverse into Hooked at the horizontal break. A long draw/sling will straighten out the rope line.

Comments: Correct Zach, and I believe it has typo saying its left of UFC when on the drawing is left of WW. There was no fixed gear on that ledge but may have dissappeared many years ago. Id like to add some anchors at both belays at some point and even take it to the rim!?

Comments: When I measured it, I was judging from halfway mark from two 70s, and noted that a single 70 could not make that first rap, however looked like a pair could get you to ground with stretch. Judging from Iou comment, looks like that's what he did if I understand his comment correctly.

Comments: Nice T-shirt day yesterday and had route to ourselves. Few more notes/tips:
Approach: when following the slick rock wash, trail breaks off just before a man-made retaining wall.
Rack: similar to Danny's recommendation above, but I used - offset MCs purp to red, (1).3-.5 C4, (2) .75 C4, (3)1-2C4, (2)3C4, (1)4C4.

P1: nice spot for #3C4 in first hueco off the deck.
P2: save a 1,2,3C4 for the last 30'.
P3: clean as a whistle compared to 5 yrs ago.
P4: thought this had the most junk rock of ... more >>
