Comments: Is the edge you describe down and left? If so the scoop sit also just took a beating.

Comments: Perhaps until we get this sorted with the neighbors who live on Fall River Rd we should list the boulder as closed to climbing so as not to have any more run ins with folks who carry guns.

Location: Rhode Island : Rockville : Stubtown Rd. Boulders : The Forgotten Boulder : Sean's Solution (V8)

Comments: Interestingly, this new problem is totally different from the original Nick's Problem. That route starts with the good right scoop but powers up right to another sloping scoop on the prow and tops out at the prows apex near Amnesia. Sean's Solution climbs into the trough at the bottom of the arete feature to some sloping jugs. It is cool that there are actually two lines here. Prob more like V6- or V6 than V8. Nick's needs some cleaning.

Comments: Glad to see this place get some access. The Fortress wall is fairly close to some houses if I remember correctly. Is that area now legal also?

Comments: Stand start, so whatever you can grab from a one pad stand. A lower problem would be great, no idea if any one has climbed a lower start. It does not have an obvious starting position, but the line is sweet.

Comments: It has come to my attention that the deception boulder is now heavily posted by the autobahn society no rock climbing. i have had numerous conversations with the ranger over the years who had always stated this boulder was in dem land, and therefore legal. if one looks at the property demarcation on a map, it looks like the boulder itself is where they drew the line. probably need to hold off going there until we get access worked out.

Comments: yes, it sort of goes as a layback not the slab angle you approach walk the line from. not sure who did it first. have you looked at the project sit start with the quartz crimp and pocket to the left?

Comments: Both Executioner and Hats Off have lots of options to beta down each move since they are heavily featured rock climbs. Executioner has a pucker factor, although the falls are often not as bad as one might think. Like most grades, add or subtract a V grade from the popular consensus and you probably have the right grade for you.

Comments: I watched Matt Wilder do it, but Marc, Mike or Shylo may have done it sooner. I think the Landman brothers also did it.

Comments: This place was a bolted chosspile at best when it was equipped. I led all the routes there when it was possible, and even rapped the lines to the right of the 12 and never felt compelled to come back. The rock is hallow and would not be safe to put bolts in in the pink section. Plus routes would be contrived as there are easier exits.

Much higher quality routes can be found at Crow Hill, some at a very high standard 12c, 13a, 13r/x all trad.

Comments: more accurately it is lincoln woods. just assume that you haven't done an fa at the woods unless its one of the few heinous projects still lurking in the trees. left chemical sit etc. there are plenty of fas still to be had outside lincoln you just have to go looking.

Comments: It seems pretty unnecessary to bolt this line. Its very short, has two moves, and is easily top roped. Not worth the time and money, IMO.

Comments: this is more of a bummer for the natural arete problem, which was very classic pure line. petes traverse is a many times broken eliminate "classic" from yesteryear. the jug starthold is on my bookcase, and i have broken feet on it three separate times.

Comments: There is a steep wall with a project that Jamie, Matt, and Marc have put some work into. I think all the moves have gone, with and without the shelf to the left.

Comments: There are now two tree stands within immediate range of the Lost Boulder. These folks most likely installed the cable across the river. Be extremely cautious when approaching, wear your day glow orange, and maintain a verbal presence, and do not go alone if you can avoid it. If you meet hunters please be polite, explain our use of the area, and try to get a sense of what days might be best to avoid each other.

Comments: Nope, on the RI side there is a dirt lot on the left across from the beach before you cross the pond on 165. Follow the trail south along the water. This area is pretty rustic, have fun.
