Comments: Maybe a little confusion between The Solstice and The Soul Asylum.

I found this place to be fun enough but after 2 routes we where over it.

Comments: No access issues...unless you are trying to avoid some of the walking by parking were you are not supposed to. Haha

The parking before the Anasazi Plateau Subdivision works well enough for Kinasava and the West Temple.

I will let Jersey speak for himself.

Comments: Has anyone around these parts been on Rodeo Girls in Bondage recently?
I am curious about the condition of the fixed gear at the 1st pitch anchor?

Comments: Not a problem Lee. I was just messing with you. I have done the same thing with other peoples photos. The finished product is better than my crappy photo anyways.

Comments: I don't recommend doing a double rope rappel off the top. It is very easy to get your ropes stuck on the large brushy Quartermoon ledge. 2 single rope rappels will be faster in the long run.

Comments: Neat place with a very remote feeling. The camping here is great but sort of trashed. I doubt if climbers are responsible for all of it, but it really should be taken better care of. We filled a trash bag full of refuse of all sorts including a few beer cans at the base of routes(no PBR's) and a whole Lil Debbie. I recommend other visitors do the same.

Comments: After climbing this again as well as the Center Face, I don't think they are the same route. I believe the Center Face is just left of this route aprox. 10'-15'. At least that is what I have climbed and thought of as The Center Face. The anchors do detract from the experience on Center Face as they are basically in the same places you would belay for both routes, but if you have done the other descents you will appreciate them. As said before, great route on great rock. Bring a 70m rope.

Comments: Only squeezed at the bottom. Fun pitch. We used a #3 camalot to supplement the bolts.

Comments: Great name for this route as you must feel all the holds before deciding on the right one. We used a .75 camalot to supplement the bolts.

Comments: Great route. I would call the 1st pitch 5.10c.

I should have payed more attention to the comments about the top anchor, as we couldn't find one and ended up walking off to the South and down the next gully, rapping once from a poorly fixed nut(downclimbing this step may be possible).

Comments: Wow! All the bolts are gone? That is a bummer, it was a fun crag. I was just there on thursday and all was good. That must have been some effort removing all those bolts.

Comments: Daniel,

It sounds like you where definitely off route. There is no fixed anchor on the 1st pitch of Mind Blow, unless that has changed, so I don't know where you where. Schoolroom is a wandering route and if it was your first time up there, it would not be hard to get off route. If your route finding skills are crap as you suggest, you might want to consider carrying a topo for longer routes that you are unfamiliar with. Glad it turned out alright.

Comments: That would be the Heaven's Gate Area. With such classics as Sky Surfer, the route you downclimb all over while accessing the Schoolroom Rappel from Tingeys, Teacher's Pet and the poorly bolted Schoolyard Bullies. All of these routes plus many more used to be posted here, gone now. I am pretty surprised the bolts have lasted this long on a few of them.

Comments: This was one of my first leads ever, and although the bolts are widely spaced they do provide adequate protection. I have had a few partners over the years who are afraid to give it a try, but for those with a strong lead head it is not too bad.
