Comments: Led this yesterday. I placed the following gear: #5 and #6 BD micro stoppers, blue, green, and yellow aliens on the traverse, a couple small BD stoppers, a silver peenut (#5 I think), green C4 to top out. There's a spot for something big, like a #3 C4, about 3/4 of the way up, but I didn't have anything above a 2 with me so I didn't place anything there.

Offset micro stoppers would have been better for the first two nut placements, which I thought were okay but not well-... more >>

Comments: Lead this yesterday and it was great fun! Perfect conditions. Does anyone know what the finger crack variation at the top of p2 goes at? Super chalked up and definitely sees traffic, felt 10ish to me, great locks... but clearly not the usual stemming finish as seen on the magazine cover. I got to it by traversing a few feet right when the crack directly in the corner petered out, and followed it straight up to the flake jug.

Comments: The first pitch is fantastic, but the second and third seem seldom-traveled. Not quite sure I climbed the right thing for those as they seemed easy for the grade and involved a small overlap with Gelsa on p2, but fun anyway!

Comments: anyway, the point of all that was that I just reused the draw from the piece that blew, and the yellow alien was still clipped to it.

Comments: twellman: yeah, I originally tried to put a piece above the move and then clip the pin before stepping over, but I didn't have the reach. I blew the piece when I pumped out and slipped off! I'd had to move it so I could use the hold it was in, and turns out the new placement just wasn't that good. what worked for me was to pull the move without trying to clip the pin first.
