By: Chris M. When: May 18, 2009 | view comment >> | Comments: If you use 2 x 60m ropes, you can rap from the 5th belay station to the first, and then make another rap to the ground. (2 double rope raps to the ground). The first of these raps is right to the ends of the ropes so make sure that they are 60m and make sure you have knots in the ends!
Also, as you you pull the roof of pitch two, to the right, watch for a pin (I missed it and had to settle for two lobes of a blue Alien...ugh).

By: Chris M. When: May 11, 2009 | view comment >> | Comments: A 70m rope will get you down with 3 raps. On the last rap just be sure to go straight out and not back down the route. Be sure to knot your ends as it is right to the end of the rope!

By: Chris M. When: Jul 1, 2006 | view comment >> | Comments: BIG rockfall off the G.Spur today! Two guys were climbing and apparently one pulled a LARGE block off, gashing his leg pretty bad. Sounded like a boxcar coming down the cliff. We were on Yellow Spur and my partner saw the rock the size of a bigscreen TV explode off the cliff and continue crashing downhill until almost hitting water at the base of the approach climb. It is indeed our understanding that Cat Slab, a privately owned crag, is currently closed to public access. The CMC and the Access Fund are jointly working to see what might be able to be done regarding this unfortunate closure.
