Comments: Great description - related to the character of the route, and perhaps also contributing to the lack of ticks for this one.

Comments: Belayer seems off route - but there are some slings there I noticed after i got to the top, so perhaps it works.

Comments: You can see a large portion of the second pitch from here, except for the opening moves up the black face past the bolt.

Comments: Super first pitch, which felt very well protected, I think I placed three additional pieces, two above the last bolt. Second pitch starts off well but then becomes a little less interesting, I followed the shallow dihedral then stepped left before it ended and placed a belay, which was probably a mistake, one could have gone higher up the continuation, tackled a tricky steep step with an offwidth crack to large blocks and a good ledge. The finishing corner is great. At the top of the corner ther... more >>

Comments: Lovely little climb with a great feel and view. No real crux, apart from the run out to the first bolt.

Comments: Nice to see it fully equipped, cruised it back in 1995, but today it seriously spanked me, very smeary route.

Comments: I didn't go in the chimney, I climbed the righthand rib, with small cam in a horizontal crack on the right for protection. This way I felt had a 5.8 move.

It's a good climb.

Comments: I recommend hiking along the top of the rock to the rappel rings atop Ayatollah, then heading around leftwards, through a notch then back to the start of the climb. That way you don't have to a) scramble down the 3rd class descent and b) do the approach up all over again. The approach may take longer than the climb itself.

Nice crack climb, pity it's not a lot longer. Significantly easier than Nutcracker or False Lieback.

Comments: I enjoyed it as an obvious final pitch of Highlander, so why not do it? Easy climbing between the spacious bolts to the final two-bolt anchor.

Comments: The top half of this route is as good as anything to the right, very fine finish which feels bigger than it is.

Comments: The first pitch is quite technical, I climbed straight up past the fourth bolt and would say it had a 5.9 move, going left at the fourth bolt is easier. Pitch 2 started with a kick in the pants but I must confess at bolt number 3 I was starting to doubt that I was on a 5.7 and started to look for the easier looking ground, there was a difficult move to passing this which I'd give 5.9. That being said pitch 2 is wonderful.

I've done a lot of 5.7s and this one is way up there in technical difficu... more >>

Comments: The following comments are from Sara Susca because she does not have an account:
there is no way in fucking hell this is 5.7, definitely not the second pitch anyway where there is spot that is so blank you would not believe it. I am also short so that does not help. I think that section is 5.10a, the rest is perhaps 5.9, and that's it.

Comments: Yes - start is tricky/burly if you're short. Top exposed section is fun - overall, despite the breaks it's a fun route.

Comments: I was teaching a scouting class here once and one kid climbed this in 8 seconds. It was very common for them to get their knee stuck in the wider section.
