Comments: Been up to Hungover Wall twice this summer, my last visit there was at least 10 years ago, maybe more. My impressions on going back after such a long break...this is a pretty sweet little crag. I had a great time both trips. The climbing is delicate, yet a bit powerful, and well, lots of fun. Get up there and have a look. It goes into the shade around 1pm.

Comments: The face plant could be avoided by not letting the climber clip the belay. The first bolts are somewhat up and out off the belay, so the belayer should only get lifted and not face planted if the climber falls. But you're right, normally it is best for the belayer to stay tight and into the rock and not 10ft out.

Comments: This route is not bad. It was cleaned pretty nicely by the FA team and thoughtfully bolted too. It is still cleaning up a little and could use more traffic. It's a bit harder than the shorter 12a to the left imo.

Comments: Pretty good wall. A bit dirty, but it should clean up. You'll have the place to yourself guaranteed.

Comments: This route is good. Really good rock, except for maybe the first pitch, but after that it's all good. There is a 15ft section on P5 that is pretty baffling.

Comments: I remember this thing being pretty good. A nice line, a little run, but as Chris states there is decent gear when needed. ...and lots of long runners are key.

Comments: This discussion goes back a few years...but here goes.
Down-grading routes such as this doesn't make much sense, especially if you're going to downgrade by a single letter (really??). Josh grades have a tendency to be all over that map, usually at the sand-bag end, I get that. But, if you've climbed hundreds then you should be getting a feel for the nature of the climbing and therefore the grades. Run for your life is an established classic and, I believe, has served as an anchor point for 1s... more >>

Comments: I kinda got psyched on the Gorge again this season and this route (and a few others in the area) was one of the reasons why. This thing is rad. Like Black Hole but a letter or two harder. It's possible to knock it down to size by dogging every other bolt, but you'll have to work a little if you want to go straight through to the anchors.

Comments: This is such a great route. I've done it a few times and each time I'm amazed at how good the climbing is and, in general, how stoked I am to be way the hell up on the Rainbow Wall. Kid in a candy store sort of thing I guess.

It has been said that this route is soft, but I like Vic's comments that saying it is soft is "too simple". There are some hard pulls on this rig for sure, it's just that you have a good bolt or wire at your feet for most of them and you never feel like you're going to ... more >>

Comments: You can get in good gear once you boulder up a bit. Don't cast off until you get something in. Folks deck from time to time.
