More information:
My first experience climbing outside was in the Garden of the Gods on Silver Spoon in 1992. For the next 6 years I climbed and bouldered all over Colorado and I competed indoors a few times. Then...I quit climbing for several reasons, none good. Fast forward to the end of 2003, and I started bouldering & then climbing again. Climbed off and on, and then I badly sprained my ankle while running in Chautauqua.
Recovered from that and was struck down by a back injury and then a shoulder injury. Shoulder surgery followed, then PT. FINALLY climbing again. I'm now leading 8s & 9s (bolted) outside, and following up to hard 10. Inside I'm onsighting easy 10's and hangdogging harder 10s. I just started leading trad again summer '08 and so far I've only been on super easy routes. My placements are bomber though and I know that I should be climbing harder, but...I have a head problem.
I'd like to get better at crack climbing and gain more confidence to lead harder trad routes. I love to travel internationally and try to climb everywhere I go - so far I have climbed in the Philippines, Vietnam, Puerto Rico, and Peru. |
