Comments: This route would have been great if it weren't for the giant, hollow sounding block at the top that you have to use to reasonably finish the route. Not recommended.

Comments: As of June 23rd, one single 60m rope was NOT enough to do the raps. The first and third raps are fine with a single 60m. The second single rope rap deposits you on a a little ledge. Some exposed 4th class down climbing will bring you to a slung boulder with two biners on it. I left that stuff behind on June 23rd and now the route can be rapped with a single 60m. It would be best if someone brought a section of long cordelette and backed up my slings, if they could.

Comments: We had the route to ourselves on the Friday before the 4th of July. Really awesome. Fun soloing between direct start and upper headwall. Definitely some low 5th class moves but the rock quality is really good. Regarding the last pitch: I found the first right-facing dihedral to be the most obvious line, with super aesthetic climbing, and perhaps 5.7+, but I didn't feel it was 5.9. I love routes that get better with every pitch until you top out!

Comments: Directly above Village Idiot there is a short, right leaning fist to OW crack that is quite strenuous. Anybody know what this is rated?

Comments: The comments on ACE's website seem to be universally in favor, and I would agree. I am a climber, not a mountain biker, but I think everyone should be able to enjoy the land equally. Less car travel to Walker in order to bike is a great idea. It seems to be a really popular biking area and anything to keep people active and out of their cars is great for a multitude of reasons. I think multi-use of state owned lands is the best direction and will foster more support of the park. I would agree w... more >>

Comments: Michael Walker, this is the best description of a route I've found on Mountain Project. Bravo for painting a beautiful picture and getting everyone psyched to be on this climb.

Comments: Very cool route. I was surprised at the amount of loose rock on it for such a popular climb. I'd be wary of climbing directly below anyone up here. I was even more surprised at the number of people I saw in the canyon NOT wearing helmets. The group next to us on the Great Zot had the leader drop a cam 75 feet onto the head of his belayer below. Better than a rock, I guess.

Comments: The Brock and McMillan Guide call this a 5 star classic. I thought it was way overbolted and not that great. A little too much clipping for my liking. Better over than under though, I guess

Comments: A cool route with fun friction moves. Well bolted except runout from last bolt to the rap anchors up and left. Need to 60m ropes for the rap
