Comments: It looks like a giant ice tool. A Grivel Monster in fact.

Comments: Silly Wabbit- Click on (titles and links in blue directly above photo) and read description for Devil's Lake East Bluff West of the Quarry rocks and specifically West Ridge and Lost Temple Rock. It is indeed a fine looking and climbing corner. Rock on right side of the open book is slick and adds factor. Get on this.

Comments: It all kind of makes sense then given what Terry has added and how Mr. Silverman fared in his attempts/sends. Plus- "The Doom" has a much more sinister and dark name (and perhaps meaning) then "Fate".

Comments: I didn't get to try Fate but I sure eye-balled it. It was hard to tell if it was going to be harder then Doom but it did look as though there was more for the feet in the crux roof area. That's what made Doom seem so hard for me--- it totally was lacking in good foot holds in those moves past the little overhang....

Comments: Climbed this for the first time last weekend and it is pretty good route. It would be a darn good lead climb as the gear is a plenty in the crack system making up left edge of this flat face. It's a little gem I think. It actually is longer then 50 feet too.

Comments: This is my favorite line at Qual Wall. The moves down low are so unique and fun. The moves at 1/2 way are very hard to read and tough to on sight and the moves at the top, although easier, sure feel hard because of the pump from everything below. Stellar!

Comments: This is a really great 5.8 climb and what a great name! Cool moves up arete and it gets very devious up at about the 3/4 mark. I think it is a candidate for a good lead as well. I spotted quite a few OK placements while on the TR. It's on my list now....

Comments: The gully on the right side of Lost Temple is maybe the most heinous in the whole of Devil's Lake park. While the gang was climbing the routes on Lost Temple the sound of rocks shooting down was heard quite loudly..... Yikes!

Comments: No gimmie for the grade I think. Quite compelling climbing and moves for 5.6.

Comments: Guidebook rates this little toughy as 5.10b? It felt a bit harder then that. In fact I never got it. I need to go back and finish this thing.

Comments: One could climb off route onto Brinton's, place gear with long slings added, climb back down, and pull the lower crux of Chiro with atleast some sort of pro to keep from grounding. Just a thought...

Comments: I wouldn't off hand state this is as unsafe (the anchor has the minimum 3 anchor points and a decent looking equalization) but it would potentially kink the cables (and forever wreck them) on these wired nuts with this obvious improper and totally not needed (all the extra sling laying there)arrangement. I wonder what led or gave this person the idea that this is proper use of a wired nut?

Comments: Thanks Jay. I will post a few pictures as well soon. It is a very good lead I agree. The rock is really nice. Very good, hard, and satisfying climbing I think. I never knew this thing existed until you mentioned it a while back. I have been looking up at it ever since while walking by. I really like the 5.7/5.8ish thing around the corner to the left too. It is not named in the guidebook other then a number but it is well worth an onsight lead attempt I think.. Short as well but super fu... more >>
