Comments: Regarding a new guidebook for SSV, I think I'd have to agree that the guidebook is well needed. The first climb I ever did in Lyons was on Mushroom Massif. I climbed all day and didn't see another climber for miles (besides my partner). I enjoyed the isolation and serenity (besides the 40 drunken picnickers at the river bank, all related I'm sure!) I

I have suggested SSV to many climbing partners and friends, who just laugh and grin. "Why would you want to go to Lyons, when you have BC and... more >>

Comments: River wall has a classic 5-10d sport route, "Introducing Meteor Dad." If you live in Lyons or are travelling thru, the riverwall is a must stop. The climbs are never crowded, the rock is solid and very well protected. Most people in Boulder feel there too good for Lyons climbing. But River Wall and a few other areas have some classic climbs. Comments: The Entryway Slab is an easy crack climb with plenty of face holds for beginning trad climbers. Warning! There is a 4-5ft flake halfway up the route, that is just one hard pull from peeling off. Be sure your partner is not right below you. This flake will do serious damage. Debated pulling it off ourselves, but right near the road and would probably settle right in the middle of the road, blocking traffic. So be careful.

Comments: Looking for some Beta, from anyone who may have been up on Kiener's recently. I am thinking of heading up to Kiener's this weekend for a quick attempt on Saturday or Sunday depending on the weather. Any recommendations from anyone who's been up that way this year?

It seems to me April and May would be solid months to give this route ago. Before the rockfall picks up in June and July. Did Lamb's Slide come in this year, any beta would be nice.

My name is Bryan Hylenski, I registered, but ... more >>
