Descending the West Buttress  Shad, Eric, and Daniel on the summit ridge. Not much to see.  Shad just above the 5.8 pitch, below the cowboy arete. Our day got a lot more unpleasant after this, with chest-deep snow for most of the arete. Lucky we had champion wallowers Daniel and Eric to push through the crux.   Shad Burnham near the top of the Japanese Couloir.   Finishing up Tabula Rasa on a cloudy day, July 2006. Photo by John C.
