Comments: If the route is cleaned (rope is only running through the anchor), one can TR up to a bolt or two past the first anchor and let go for a really big swing. 20 m is not much of an exaggeration, if at all.

Comments: I didn't find the start to be the crux, rather a section up higher where the sequence wasn't so obvious.

Comments: I think Brian's correct about the location. This climb is to the LEFT of the tufa, and is called "Ses tres Maries".

Comments: GPS coordinates for one of the parking areas (about 200 m south of the trail): 39.495325, 3.266255

This is absolutely not "an out of the way, locals, cala (cove)." Perhaps this was true back on '09, but when we climbed there last week, there were American, British, and German climbers, along with a handful of hikers/bikers. It wasn't overcrowded, but had no semblance of an off-the-beaten-path feel. In fact, the next day we counted 15 cars in the parking areas. The rock and setting are wonde... more >>

Comments: Note: due to extreme seepage in/around the anchor, one of the carabiners (the aluminum one) has been nearly corroded-through (as of April 2011). I sacrificed one of my own as a temporary fix, but it will undoubtedly suffer the same fate. The only remedy seems to be another stainless steel carabiner.

Comments: Maybe it was a combination of greasy and seeping holds, but this felt more like 12a- to me.

Comments: I'm looking for a reliable climbing partner. The only requirements are: good sense of humor, taste for beer, motivation to climb. PM me if you're interested in meeting up sometime.

Comments: Longer climb, more like 90'. Bit of a two-move-wonder with about 50' of 11- post-crux climbing with some decent rests.

10 or 11 draws, chain anchor.

Comments: I never said that I don't think this belongs on MP.com. I was calling attention to the original description, which cautioned people to "stay low-key", which implies that the legality of climbing in this area is questionable, at best. As the description has been changed, this is no longer an issue.

Comments: There is a toll for the road from Stöckalp, and it's 12 Franken. IMO, if you're going to Swizzyland for single pitch climbing, you're nuts!

Comments: Piece of advice: if you're trying to make it seem like you're only posting this information for "historical purposes," you need to avoid incriminating yourself with lines such as "This route is somewhat secluded and ideal for night-time ascents, just be stealthy."

Have a look at the Navajolands area.

Comments: The first bolt is about 15' off the ground. If you are comfortable leading 5.8, there's no need to worry about getting up to it.
