Location: CA : Los Angeles County : Santa Monica Mountains : Echo Cliffs : Java Wall : Daily Grind (5.12b) By: bosworth When: Aug 16, 2010 | view comment >> | Comments: In case you missed the comment on the Java wall page, there is a hornets nest near the second to last bolt of this climb in an on-route pocket. I would save this climb for after the first frost when these guys start to die off.

My friend stuck his finger in their two finger pocket home only to be greeted by a swarm of angry hornets that chased him down the face as I hurriedly lowered him. I wouldn't climb this route until after the first frost when these guys start to die off.
