Comments: I wish I could remain silent and possibly for my own good, I should, but I just cannot... one can only be left out to dry so many times. I not quite sure why someone would continue to throw what was at one time a good friendship under the bus but sometimes that is just how it goes... I suppose. For any local out there we all know who the "unnamed local" is so why bother doing "him" any favors... lets just get it out there. It's me, Blake... I'm the one who scarred Faith forever... and I have to ... more >>

Comments: Glad you enjoyed the video. Be really great if you did do this thing over Christmas break. The colder temps definitely help out for some of the holds. Understand the getting into shape idea... something always gets in the way of that. I might be around over the holidays but not completely sure yet. I'd have to get back to you. Be great to climb with you again. As for the name, nope it's spelled right... no pun intended.

Comments: Heavyweight... hmm, probably more like a middle weight but none the less we will see. We have people around here who can probably clean this thing up pretty quickly. You are right though... the holds are not that great. The right hand hold that was really bad broke from me trying to stand on it as a foot. It broke to a bigger but certainly not better hold. It is now slopey and hard to hang on to even though you can get another finger on it. It took a while to piece together but I think it's a pr... more >>

Comments: Great route which if you have dialed can turn into a really nice warm-up. If not dialed you could spend the rest of your day on it. Great climbing on decent pockets the whole way. The grade is questionable as we are now giving it an a grade but the locals know it so well that is what it is staring to feel like. Give yourself the b rating if it is at your limit and feel good about it. Know one will argue with you. A must!

Comments: A pretty good warm-up for the thunderhead. Can also become a project if you are not used to steep climbing. If you find the thunderhead a little intimidating this one is a good introduction. Good for whatever your skill level is because of the friendly holds and its short crux.

Comments: If you like hard boulder problems this one is for you. In my opinion this route is spectacular. Warm the tendons up and pull down, if you can. A little different than most of the routes on the wall, not much fitness required here. Three stars!

Comments: Arguably the best route at the wall. Very hard, but some of the best dynamic climbing you will ever do. This route is the epitome of climbing at the thunderhead. When you're ready, strap this brute on and crank it out. I have seen everyone who has redpointed the route and their attempts, and let me tell you this one will take it to your limits. Superior!

Comments: Not as hard as Alice but definately a close relative in grade. A little more boulderly but a extra pocket of fitness would be helpful. Superior movement and a get after it attitude is required. A must!

Comments: Probably one of the best routes for the grade in Spearfish Canyon. It throws a little bit of everything at you. You'd better be on your toes to get this one. It has tossed everyone who has been on it. Be prepared for a little work. Fun and super classic, a must do!

Comments: Greg your right I should have looked at that guide you gave me more closely. So I was just guesstimating on how many we had. So we are looking at probably about 300 or so now since we have been developing down by the Black Jack Pots and around in another valley down there. Wow we have a lot.

Comments: Baldy has been seeing major development for the last 6 years or so. It was initially developed by Greg Parker and Dave Astrick. Just from those two alone there came about 50 maybe a little more in problems. Over the last couple of years myself, Mike Cronin, Travis Rypkema, Heather Henin, and a few others have really done some work. Now there is about 150 or so established problems worth lots more of potential. The grades range from V0 to V10-V11. I have a list and a map draw of the area with mos... more >>
