Comments: This is a fun route. Pitch 2 has a little bit of heads up climbing on it. It will be even better when it cleans up a little more.

Comments: Well... we didn't want anyone to know but since you seem to have the inside scoop, I'll admit that we brought up a bottle of Elmer's glue and glued on the chopper flake. Sorry all for making Journey Through Mirkwood a little less mirky.

Comments: Does anyone have an explanation for the anchor that faces the road? We took the webbing off of it so it's not as obvious/ugly. Our crew couldn't figure out what it was for. No route before or after and it makes no sense to rappel that direction. Unless someone has a reason for it being there it should be chopped.

Just my thought.

Comments: Nice work guys. Even on the old bolts this thing was sweet. More people should get on it. You're right, the 5.10-R wasn't that hard. I think it scares a lot of people away, but it shouldn't.

Climb this route it's sick!

Comments: This route is AWESOME!
It should get way more traffic then it does.
The pitch off the notch is physical, but only has 30' of splitter off-width, and then is super varied and fun. The second pitch is chimney if you are a 12 year old boy, other wise it is off-width.

Bring a #4 big-bro or two.
I'll say it again.
Bring a #4 big bro.

It's not fun looking at an anchor fall from 30-40' up.

Climb the route, its not as hard as everyone says.

Oh yeah. Man up and jump the gap.

Comments: Matt and I climbed this route last night. We left Sam's house at around 10pm and got back to the house at 3am. The route is sick! I agree that the middle two pitches are awesome, but I thought that the first pitch was pretty clean with some stellar moves. The last pitch is great climbing, on super clean rock. I would say this route is one in the top 15 free routes I have done in the desert.
Its damn good!

Comments: Great route Max! Really good free climbing!
I agree with the 5.11 rating save one move on the last pitch. I would guess that some of the holds got a little smaller over the years? Or who knows, maybe you're right and it's 5.11.

Comments: Hey! There is some weird route finding getting off of blackjack. It's not all straightforward like astrodog. And how do you get lost on a rappel?

Comments: Funny you should ask Brad, I mounted a smaller version to my bike helmet yesterday. My standard after work road ride that I usually do in 2 hours only took me an hour and 15 minutes! It was crazy! I am building a larger version for my car right now! Give the man your money it works!
