More information:
Climbing since 1979, trad background, learned from a Gonzo climber of the day. Survived a couple years of my own noob bad judgement, epics and injury to learn from mistakes and become a proficient safe climber. I worked as a climbing/mountaineering instructor for NOLS starting in 1983 and was a ski instructor and patroller and ambulance EMT in the 90's. In the last 15 years I've been teaching emergency medical skills for WMI and making didgeridoos for a living. Parenthood interrupted climbing until my daughter wanted to climb. I had a couple setbacks in recent years, a serious shoulder injury/surgery and a life threatening medical problem which for now are solved and I am healthy. Feeling more relaxed and solid climbing than ever, and having a great time! Looking to work less, reduce stress, travel and climb more. Grateful for every good day of rock climbing. Generally comfortable leading 5.10 give or take a grade. Happier doing a bunch of pitches at ability level than chasing numbers. Cragger at heart, single pitch, multi pitch, trad, sport all good. No longer interested in ice, mountaineering or high altitude. -Primarily looking for safe experienced partners with similar knowledge/skills/ability, able to take care of themselves, ideally with some basic rescue skills. -Secondarily those with at least solid basic skills in the outdoors, belaying a leader, good attitude, and open desire to learn more -not looking for noobs or gym climbers wanting to start climbing outside. Safety is #1: I'd rather be down for a beer than an epic! I want to know about you before hooking up. I don't like defensive or cavalier attitudes towards safety. I'll be watching out for you. I want you to do the same for me. Not into egos, spray, whining, ranting, rude behavior. Into: Positive vibes, watching out for each other, sharing life experiences, learning, improving, having a good time! |
