Comments: Jay, thanks for the info. The blue line was 5.11a in my opinion. It has been years since I climbed the line....

Just curious do you remember me from your days of BMX? I used to ride with you at the old bladium skate park!

Comments: It's actually a northern saw whet owl.... Spotted owls are much larger and endangered.... I doubt one of the most endangered species in the country hangs out around a popular climbing crag on the outskirts of Golden, CO.... Still a bad ass shot.

Comments: Man o man.... This was my first alpine tower.... The Exposure is epic right from the start.... Since we went high above the notch and then downclimbed the eastern side and then traversed over to the notch (5.3x, 5.4x), a fall from the eastern side would surely end you, but only after a bounce, maybe two.... The beta photo with the blue line is great, but you had better have some cojones, 'cause it is a very spicy approach to the notch belay point. I would recommend roping up on either approach ... more >>

Comments: Top of pitch 2- The large ledge with the fixed rope.....
LOOSE ROCKS!!! THERE ARE LOTS OF BASEBALL TO GRAPEFRUIT-SIZED AND SOME LARGER ROCKS, which need to be thrown into the creek. If you are the only party up there, please throw some down. I made a pile while waiting to rap, and after rappelling 20 feet down from the ledge realized I should have done it.

Beware when rappelling, or wear your brain buckets! Have Fun.

Comments: Climbed yesterday afternoon (3/5/12). Great moderate route, great warm up for the rest of creek side. Started in the sun, climbed in the shade, rappelled in the windy cold shadows.

On the second belay ledge (top of pitch two - there are 2 sets of anchors 1 hanging and 1 at the bench/ledge), there are lots of loose baseball to grapefruit-sized and some larger loose rocks. I piled them into a pile away from where the rope will drag them down when you pull it for a rappel. In hindsight, I sho... more >>

Comments: The Yellow line is a good warmup
The Blue line is hard to sequence successfully, especially where the two cracks merge, awkward mantle side pull?(0/12 so far... I suck...LOL)
The red line is, well ummm, WOW!. Left handed sloper-side-pulls and right handed slappers on the blunt smooth arete, with few to non-existant feet. Oh and did I mention overhanging.... If you can climb this you are super human.
