Comments: Hey Brent thanks for the info. Is the rappel another route or is the 2nd set of anchors just for descending this route? I didn't see them but I was in a hurry, because it was getting late but it would be nice to know where they are. Rapping the route doesn't really seem possible.

Comments: The only beta I had for the route came from the Dingus McGee Black Hills Needles guide book. The topo shows the route starting in the left facing corner with arrows leading up and around the large flake to get to the routes Raspberry Jam, Solar Flare, and Carl's Bad Caverns. I climbed it and posted it the way I interpreted it from the guide book.

Comments: The two pull offs from Iron Mountain Road have boulders stacked around them to prevent people from driving up the road. One of the pull offs has a trail marker that says no motorized vehicles. This considerably adds to the approach, as the road in is a mile long and steep.

Comments: You may want to stick clip the first couple bolts if your not solid leading 5.9. The route is pretty hard right from the start.

Comments: Great route! You might want to bring an extra rope though, we couldn't find anchors for the second rappel off the backside. We found a flake to sling to rap to the ground. The party after us did one two rope rappel to reach the ground.
