Also, the 2008 edition guidebook is out! However, the Demons of Bosch are hard at work, putting up routes at a furious pace. Check out wolverinepublishing.com/rifle_new_routes.html for info on new routes and corrections, since the release of the guide.

The author of that section of the book is Nate Adams, who contributed many of the routes to this site. As Nate, myself, and probably many others have found out, the history of Lime Creek climbing is not well documented. Every move approaching 5.12 on the route is protected by a nice shiny bolt, allowing you both the comfort of safety and the foreknowledge that a crux may be coming. The climbing is quite sporty, by that I mean that it feels like sport climbing(not runnout), and because of this I think feels very accessible and not particularly intense for the grade. I'm curious, as one who is trying to learn a trade(aid climbing) on how you go about using aluminum heads in the Fishers. It was mentioned in the gear list. I've only placed a few heads before in Yosemite and one of the key considerations was making sure the placement was as clean as possible, so the head would stick to the rock, rather than the grit. To me it seems like this wouldn't work well in the fisher towers, or on sandstone at all. Please enlighten me on ... more >>
