Comments: Just to clarify, the piton was placed during the FA in 2008. Since the whole capstone that it was placed in was deteriorating at the time (now five years ago), I wouldn't trust it without inspection and backup.

Comments: The rock isn't really dirty... there's just a death flake here and there (and there, and right over there too)!

The two lines I that I put up had very little loose rock. I bailed off a third when I got to a refrigerator-sized knife that moved when I touched it. I tried to rap in and clean it, but even that was a bit spicy! I'm sure there's more plums to be picked, they just might require some work or some luck.

Comments: There seems to be some confusion about the rock type here. It is not sandstone, but an Igneous Breccia. Most of the clasts are Scoria.

Comments: How far is the drive from Portland? Would it be breaking confidentiality to give me a range so that I can decide if it's close enough for me to check it out?

Comments: Are you saying that a linkup that starts on one route, climbs into a second route, then finishes on the first route is an independent line? Even when they share an anchor?!

Comments: it sure isn't 'Growing Up', but for a lively debate about bolting brought on by 'Blond Ike':

Comments: very funny...

it was all hand drilled on lead :)

-correction, we retro'ed the last bolt on pitch two after realizing we wouldn't want to run it out like it was more than once
