Comments: If anyone knows who put up the FA or the name let me know so I can update it. I just wanted to put it on the website, because this climb has one of my favorite moves in the Morrison area. IMHO this is of much higher quality in comparison to the Done Deal Dyno.

Comments: The low start awkward, but super fun, if that makes any sense. The top out provided a little more spice then expected.

Comments: JJ had a pretty in depth guide to the New River Wall on his old blog, so does frontrangebouldering.com for those who are curious. I will try to get some photos up after my next visit to help distinguish the various lines.

Thanks to Luke for putting up a lot of the info on these climbs around the Front Range! Very much appreciated!

Comments: I don't think that feature exists yet. Sort of a bummer. Missed you at Castlewood, also sort of a bummer, but what can you do? Hopefully see you soon, JJ!

Comments: Felt harder than the Underclings (V6/7), and more enjoyable. Very cool, committing moves at the end. Would be more than 2 stars without the dirty holds, and the dab potential....

Comments: Very confused, are well all having the same conversation? I thought so... guess not. Both MP and DD are logical and different. yes? YES! Are they both 2 star contrivances? yes? Yes!

What am I missing? Go climb, because it is much better than bowling.

Comments: Yeah it is JJ, not sure what is going on... but the same climb. No way this is V8, maybe even 7 is a stretch? I don't know....

Question: the Dark Waters stand, and trav out right is what like an 8ish? Just curious... thanks.

Comments: I can only think of three people to have completed the full Bambi line (FA Thomas Betterton). Thomas, Chuck, and Jon Cardwell. I am curious to see who else has repeated? Any info. A very cool climb, quite hard for me.

Comments: I find this to be an interesting debate. What role does history play in a climb?

The original name should have it's place noted, I agree with this. Nevertheless, I have never heard this climb called anything but The Kind, to help other climbers seeking this climb, I feel it is important to use the most well known name.

If I were climbing in Emerald lake and a fellow climber asked me, "Where the standard overhang is?" Until recently I would not be able to help them locate this rock climb. ... more >>

Comments: Wade, I think the sentiment that everything was done ten years ago is most probably accurate.

However, I do read, and realize your line goes further left. That was never what I was trying to understand. I guess there is a large miscommunication happening somewhere, not sure how though.

Cheers

Weird... I hope we never meet, see you Tuesday?

Comments: I think Josh originally called this a V7, I found I could keep a heel almost throughout the whole climb.

Josh indicated to me a while ago that his start was much lower than where people are generally starting right now for this rock climb.

I have not done this in a year or so, but it is a fun climb nevertheless.

Comments: Sorry for the lack of a response. You did it the same way I have. I would take the V4, Merc and I did this in the middle of a summer, and those top slopers felt a little greasy, very fun climb. Did you try the other climb?

Comments: This seems like a logical variation JJ. Isnt the start of RP the crux? So RP crux into return to squiggles crux seems pretty straight forward. Not sure how Wade's V8 suggestion makes any sense. This feels much harder then the Manhattan Project, just my 2 cents.

Comments: Said and G, I could see how it's probably a V5, the V4 confuses me. Perhaps since I originally did it in July with more than a few drinks in me it seemed harder, nevertheless, a good climb.

Cheers,
Andrew

Comments: After repeating this line I have done it two different ways. I think there are almost a grade difference between them.

Option 1- V7, after hitting the right most sloper, slapping right hand again is probably solid for the grade.

Option 2 - V6, hit the right most sloper and cross left hand over to the right hand side and then match. It is really a pretty awesome way of doing it, and is less conditions dependent.

Option 3 - Mantle, dang! That is pretty awesome. I am a short dude and was not... more >>
