Comments: As of 4/14/03 the most direct start to pitch 1 is blocked by a fallen tree about twenty feet off the ground. Instead, use the next uphill dihedral, or better yet, climb the excellent 40 foot dihedral that is uphill yet further and leads to the tree at the start of the Unsaid. From here traverse down and right and rejoin Verschneidung.
