Comments: Thanks Steve. I think you're right, and I would also love to see more of the harder climbs at WFH getting a little bit more love in general.

Comments: Tyler told me that he bolted this, but never climbed it. I don't think anyone from TCCM has climbed it in the interim, so my climb today was probably the FA. If it's not let me know and I'll update the info. Overall, I don't think I would climb it again, but it was okay. "I am Made of Rice" is much more enjoyable.

Comments: Finally got the FA of this line today! After getting completely rained out on our last trip up to Mandalay, I sent it on my 8th day on. Named it the Firefly Engagement to honor Tyler Hoffart's original name Firefly and also because I was projecting this route when I proposed to my fiance at the monastery at the top of Waterfall Hill.

As for the grade, I think it's harder than any other 5.12c I've sent; however, I think the FA process of finding the beta, cleaning and chalking the hol... more >>

Comments: First of all take the first right turn you see when you're heading up the trail. When we were there, there were climbing ropes tied along the trail. This takes you to the base of the crag. It shouldn't be much more than a 5 minute approach. Secondly, we went to Monkey Buttress on a trip to HK in June/July. During this time of year there are a bunch of HUGE spiders (as big as your face) that make webs across the trail. I'm not sure if they're poisonous, but just an FYI. Also take a lot of mosquit... more >>

Comments: I traversed in from the left on this, and the slippery traverse felt harder than the actual prow. Also, I think the sport grade of 5.8 might make more sense than v1/2. Regardless, this was probably the most memorable thing I climbed at LD.

Comments: Guidebook says .11c. It felt harder than that to me, but conditions were very hot and humid. Great Route, after the crux there are several places to ease the pump.

Comments: This thing is hard! I put 5 days into it in the past couple of months, and I almost found my way through the last of the crux this weekend. Maybe next time.

Comments: 3 Stars for the bottom section, bomb for the top. Katie pulled off a big rock while climbing this, and I suspect there are several more that will come off.

Comments: I helped bolt this line. Got to see Cyrille get the FA on his last day in Myanmar. Cyrille named it in reference to the previous day when we hiked and climbed through heinous class 4 and 5 jungle, getting bitten by fire ants and mosquitoes, to set up a line to bolt routes at a different site. In the effort to set the line, Cyrille cut some deep gashes in his forearm. Although, we did succeed in setting up a line, the team on the ground never ended up getting any bolts in the wall. We ended up ba... more >>

Comments: Maybe it's not the most classic climbing, but this is the first route in Myanmar. Get on it and feel the history with your own finger tips and rubber shoes.

Comments: Super thin and body-position specific. Worked this route for over a year trying to figure out the beta. Finally put it all together today; cold temps and wind definitely helped. Also I found clipping the 3rd bolt on the route to be pretty safe. I took multiple falls from the holds right at the 3rd bolt, and I never decked.

Comments: Hey, I would like to add a route on this face to the right of Ghost. Looks like a line would go, I've rapped down it a couple of times to start cleaning it and putting the moves together. I have everything I need to put the new line in, except for a drill. I even have my own bit. If someone would be willing to lend my a drill in exchange for a six-pack or a couple of bucks, send me a message.

Comments: In my opinion, following the bolt line of Mr. Squirrel is more difficult than .11c. It was much more difficult for me than "Death of Innocents," "Lying on the Ground," and "Unknown Route (Brown Cloud);" all of these routes are N. Table routes that are rated 5.11d. I would say that it was on par or slightly easier than Mrs. Hen (12a) and Chicken Dance (12a).

Comments: One of the things that I didn't understand about this crag was the grading of the routes. The 5.6 and 5.7 felt extremely sandbagged, the 5.10b felt true to the grade, and the 5.12 felt soft. My comparison here is 4 years of climbing in Colorado and in Arkansas.

Comments: Steve, I got on that three bolt line up top today, and it was harder than I thought it would be 11plus range probably. I had to hang a couple times. I ended up topping out and cleaning my draws with a stick clip.

Comments: There is a death block waiting to fall to the left of the 4th bolt. It is tempting to use it as a foot, but it is really loose. I left chalk x's on it
