Comments: I bailed on an older hex on this formation...it's purple and cool. If anyone grabs it I'd be willing to compensate for it. It has emotional value to me. Thanks. And, what was I trying to climb there?

Comments: Yah -- WTF??? Thank god for the comical "bomber" footnote on this photo (written by a fellow mountainproject user) or I would have been a lot less happy about this thing...at least this way I was prepared and could laugh about the redunkulous nature of that thing.

I think it should be renamed: "The Hilarity of Slime"
I mean, it's so funny when you're on top of that thing...and then every hold is so greasy from overuse. My partner and I were cracking up on this guy.

Comments: I'm gonna go ahead and second the warning about the denizens of the El Rito climbing area. Another climber (a lady) and I were there ready to depart when these two guys in a red F150 pickup approached us. They were very strange -- asking us what we were doing -- weren't we afraid of dying -- would we be willing to sell her dog -- did we want to buy their dog -- were we "eachother's ladies." Comments: The steep trail consists of dirt and pine needles. If you hit a large felled tree which is sliced horizontally and laid perpendicular to the trail you can cut right and head onto another trail which will put you at the top of the formation. You could leave your stuff there and head back to the base of the climb.
Yes, the shrubbery was heinous. Then again, I got off route and climbed up that face left of the bushy dihedral --retreated into the dihedral -- then traversed back onto the face. N... more >>

Comments: yah, this route is FAR more difficult than the one next to it...the start is a 10 move for sure. and the top is DIRTY DIRTY. but it was pretty scary and sketchy so i generally enjoyed it.
