First pitch. We belayed at the rap anchor instead of the regular belay station (up and right). Nice ledge but harder to communicate with the leader at the crux.

Comments: There's a 40 acre parcel of land at the base of this cliff band for sale for $125,000. I'm young and poor, but someone with a little cash to burn could make the buy of the century if they get on it.

Comments: The photo's labels sort of imply you climb up and left on the second pitch. In fact, the second pitch goes straight right and then curves around the back of the tower. Also, the first pitch is out of view to the right.

Comments: The real first pitch, not mentioned in the description, climbs the lighter colored slab on the left side of the tower to the saddle. A must do!

Comments: I just got back from a trip to this area. The setting is stunningly beautiful albeit extremely primitive and remote. The rock quality is on par with IC but the cracks generally aren't as clean or as tightly grouped together. There are far more routes here than are listed in the current guidebooks! We ended up just eyeballing many mystery cracks and onsighting everything.
To get there you first must find a faint old unmarked double-track road that heads straight to the wall and follow it until y... more >>

Comments: I witnessed Czech climbing legends, Peter and Zorka Prachtel free solo this thing. At the time Peter was 68 and Zorka 60. I regret not telling Charlie about their feat. Check out the topo Peter drew of his traverse of Long's Peak the same summer in my profile.
