Comments: This route is probably my favorite in Slab City. It starts crimpy, moves into a powerful roof, and then finishes on enjoyable, balancy slab up top. It's a nice long route and varied. I climbed it alongside Shattered Dreams, Goody Two Shoes and some 10d just left of Synchronicity [Gulp Swallow perhaps, but wasn't trad and didn't match the description in the book?]. Anyway, this one was easily the best of the four.

Comments: Ah, I guess I must have thought that Maximizer was Double-Whammy then.

Comments: Colin - sounds like you did the extension to Power Play then finished up Double Whammy (5.11a).

Comments: What's the name and grade of the extension of this route. I found the anchors with chains that Chris mentions, but then continued up another six or seven bolts, past a roof with a few jams in a crack on the left. If I were to guess, I'd say it was 15 bolts, 5.11b/c. It was a ton of fun, and quite a bit left of double whammy.

Comments: We just put an X on a glued block that will come off soon. Can't miss it. It's after the 3rd bolt. I love the crux section.

Comments: Might be late in the season after a long period of no rain--- but make sure you don't mind climbing through inch thick mounds of birdshit for the first 1/2 of the route....ewww. belayers get to share in the joy too- they get to stand in it and enjoy the birdshit crumbles falling in their face as they watch the climber......

Comments: This is such a fun route! with 2 distinct cruxes and definitely a battle against the pump.... its my personal work in progress project until i can do it totally clean!!! :)
The info above is spot on when it said 'helps to be tall'- for little people like me it felt really challenging... ha, ended up dyno-ing the lower crux at the (joking) suggestion of my partner- but no one was more shocked than me when it actually worked!!! sooo... maybe that's the beta for short girls??
but yeah, 5 stars, su... more >>

Comments: There's a pretty loose flake on this climb at about mid-height. It's just before the dihedral.

Comments: Super chossy, someone bring a broom! Yet the bottom belay areas have rock, sand, and wood walkways, very nice to show the climbers care about this spot!

Comments: Fun, well protected route. Be careful around anchors tons of loose rock and sand. Wish I had a broom!
