Comments: By light rack, it really means light rack. We ended up taking a bunch of gear that we never used for this climb. No gear placements on P1, P2, P3 (other than slung horns), P6. I think we got in one .4 on P4 and one #1 of P5. It's really not worth hauling a light rack -- maybe a couple of small cams at most. There were a couple of tri-cam pockets on the upper pitches, but of course we left these on the ground and substituted a bunch of useless nuts.

Comments: Having never climbed No Alternative, we were told to expect some serious runouts on P2 above the main crack/corner system. In reality there are 2-3 overhangs that will take a wide range of gear from micro-cams to #1 C4 cams. You are really never more than 25' out from your last piece if you bring a light rack. Not as scary as we were led to believe.

Comments: I would climb this route every day for the rest of my life. Absolutely essential climb at this grade in the south east. Tons of fun, easy to protect and the view is great.

Comments: I remember getting either a #1 or #2 in right before the crack begins to widen, not much else though. Once you step out of the crack onto the slab it seems to get easier for the final run-out.
