Comments: We were at Contest Wall this weekend, and there seemed to be lots of activity, including new bolting. Any information about new routes since the Knapp/Thompson/Aschert guide?

Comments: In the book, it calls this a 11b and I agree with that. I found between the first and second bolt was a little weird, but the holds were huge, at least I thought they were, again I am 6 foot. Bob Robertson and Ed Quesada had the FA.

Comments: I thought the second bolt was fine. If you get scared by a 5.6 move to get to it, then bring a cam because the fall would be close to dirt. This route rocks and never has a line to get on it, nice!

Comments: Very tough onsight. Hell, it was hard after I took at the crux lol. Tricky, but awesome and very unique. Stays with you the whole way.

Comments: As of today the branch down low is still waiting to claim your manhood.

Comments: I agree with others, this is an awesome route. A tricky slab down low, with a powerful slightly overhanging face topping out over a bulge to finish. Power, balance, sequence and technique are all needed for this route. Definitely the best .12 I've been on at Shelf, although I haven't sampled many.

Comments: Interesting bolt placement, thought provoking fall potentials, discontinuous climbing, and questionable rock in a few places....

Comments: Long solo to first bolt. Then the other bolts felt very run out. Overall, it felt poorly protected with potential to fall onto ledges.

Comments: I thought this was a great route very sustained with a nice jug before the crux. Hard to figure out at first but not bad with good beta.

Comments: Sweet Route!!!!! 5 stars in my book, perfect rock with nice moves. #0.5 cam for the ledge before the 2nd bolt was perfect or if you're over six feet, you can tickle your draw into the hanger.

Comments: Classic and a benchmark for the grade. Ever-increasing difficulty to the top and sequency at the bulge.

Comments: I agree the extension on this didn't make sense (went right) and didn't really seem worth the effort. I could see it freaking someone out new to leading and seeking this grade. Bottom half was fun.

Comments: A favorite. Climbs slightly harder, though better quality, on a plumb line through the slab bolts all the way to the roof instead of stepping right.

Comments: This route is great. Continuous, great movement, great stone, and sack-up to pull the bulge. Another 20 ft. and it would be top 10 shelf.

Comments: This line should never have been bolted despite how appealing it looks from the ground. Dirty loose rock that will never clean up to a barely attached pillar with bolts in it, waiting to dump tons of rock on belayer and passers by. I downclimbed for fear of potentially falling on one of these bolts. Thanks to the equipper for the hard work, but no thanks.

Comments: This route wanders from left to right and is a little runout at the top. Great route nice moves. 7 or 8 bolts, I think.

Comments: Maybe there's a way to contrive a .12a sequence, but I didn't find it. The opening moves are a little thin, but really positive. 11b.
