Comments: This photo sums up very well how tall this thing feels. A very flat landing on pads and it still hurts your feet!

Comments: A bit soft for V6 not harder than Sloper Chief and Kauna Roof, a bit closer to V6 if you stay on the crimps on the left hand face.

Comments: V5? Seems a bit overrated for this climb, but the description lacks any indication that the toe hook on the NorthWest face of this boulder was used (bomber), or the crimp on the same face which begs to be held, also it may be an Ape index dependent climb (I have huge wingspan). This problem offers some of the coolest bouldering movement I've enjoyed!

Comments: It is quite hard, Caraher. Definitely harder than V2.

Comments: Maybe this problem doesn't suit my style, or maybe I'm using bad beta, but damn it sure feels hard for a V2.

Comments: I believe you're referring to the Submarine Boulder, which is down and a little further south of the Kahuna Boulder. Although it's not out of the water all of the time, it's definitely been climbed. The problems are on the side that faces the water. There's a V1 called "Up Periscope" but that's the only one I know a name for. Further south from there is Shoreline Block which also has some problems.

Comments: Anyone know what's up with the new semi-steep boulder under the Kahuna Roof? There's chalk on two sweet lines, one is around V5/6 with cool sloppers and another warm up sort of thing. I did some V5/6ish sort of thing last night that started matched in underclings and went staight up, was super cool. What boulder is this? Is it new terrain with the new water level?

Comments: The rating on this depends on where you start the climb. In the old days there was a large flake ( somewhere in the areas of the climbers feet in the posted photo) you could start on that and the climb was concensous 5.9. That 2 foot flake broke off (unknown who) around 1995 making for a lower (deeper in the cave) sit down start. if you crawl in the cave and do the sit down this is rated V2. Allen
