This is a copy of Brad Brandewie's photo of Ian McAlexander on Dolomite Tower, Kor Route.

Much of the third pitch of Infrared is marked (white dashes).

Josh Janes's description mentions a bolt protecting a loose block (white circle). The belayer is pinned in place by two bolts directly under it. When my turn came to yank on it...it felt pretty good. Whew!

I copied Brad Brandewie's photo and added in some helpful details.

We belayed on the spacious summit ledge and then did the wild down-climb onto the bolt rap anchor (red X's).

I did see the slung block for Clearlight's summit rappel (red arrow). Appeared easy to get to. I'll try that way off next time.

Chalk is visible in this photo on many holds. The crux is pulling/stemming left out of the overhung corner.

Comments: Couldn't find the bolts for the rap on this route and rapped from Clearlight's slung block anchor... it sucked swinging/pulling back to the Infrared anchor.

Comments: Cool to hear this finally went. When we attempted the FA, I remember stacking a leaper z, two angles, and a knife blade, all tied off in a shallow hole in the seam. I couldn't get them to stick until I had them tied off and while gently waiting them I tapped each in as far as I could. With sand coming out of the placement (like sand through an hourglass) the whole time I was on on it, I drilled a baby angle and we bailed. The line we left fixed swung in the breeze for what seemed like years. ... more >>
