This photo is taken from the Northwest. The yellow "S" is the Sarcofago, and the red dotted line represents the trail of tracks I followed to the summit in Nov 2006. It essentially follows the ridge, but the ridge is very broad, so it could be easy to wander in the fog. The refugio is in the valley behind the sarcofago.

This is the view on the descent. The refugio is the obvious rectangular structure below, and the well-traveled section of trail is visible on the center-left. This is taken below the confusing section.

A guide and his client. This is a good representation of the steepness of the route.

Pretty much the meanest thistle I've ever seen. Spotted on the descent, this thing was two feet tall and coated in about 1/4 inch of ice.

Expect plenty of freezing mist on this peak. Being that it's close to the gulf, conditions can be both humid and cold.

Refugio, summit, and the remains of an old aqueduct. The route to the glacier heads up the obvious drainage.
